Indian Air Force (IAF) is organizing a Common Admission Test for hiring of Both MEN & WOMEN for its courses proposed to start from January 2013 & July 2013 (for UES -2013) . IAF will be providing a Short Service Commission in Flying, Technical and Ground branches to the Selected Indian Citizens

Branch Name & Eligibility Criteria For BE/ btech:
For Men:
Flying Branch :
Qualification : BE/B.Tech degree Four year course from a recognized University with minimum 60 % marks in aggregate in all papers put together
Age: 19 to 23 years as on 1st Jnauary 2013. ie. born between 02 January 1990 to o1 january 1994 (both dates inclusive)
Physical Criterion:
Height & Weight: The Minimum Height of the Candidates should be 162.5 cms with correlated weight and leg length in the range of 99 cms (Min) and 120 cms (Max). The Thigh Length of the candidate should be 64 cms. (Max.), Sitting Height: 81.5cms (Min) to 96 cms (Max).
Vision: The Eye sight of the candidate without Glasses should be: 6/6, 6/9. Myopia-Nil. (… more details in the actual detailed advertisement. from the link provided below )
Note: Candidates who have already applied Pilot Aptitude Battery Test are failed in it need not to apply. A Flight Cadet suspended from flying training of Air Force Academy will also not be eligible to apply.
Technical Branch:
Qualification:
(i) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}. Candidatesapplying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared section A and B examination of Associate 
Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India
or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies. Candidates should also fulfill conditions given in Para 4 (a). 
(li) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) (AE (M)>. Candidatesapplying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared section A and B examination of Associate 
Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or
Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies. Candidates should also fulfill conditions 
given in Para4 (b).

UES-2013 Entry:
(a) Age: 18to28 years ason01 July 2013 i.e. Born between 02 July 1985 to 01 July 1995 (both dates inclusive). 
(b) Educational Qualifications: 
(I) Aeronautical Engineer(Electronics){AE(L)}. Candidates applyingfor AE (L) branch would be eligible if they are presently in their 
Pre-final year of four year BE/B Tech degree qualification from a recognized University.Candidates should also fulfill conditions given in 
Para 4 (a). 
(ii) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE(M)>.Candidates applyingforAE (M) branch would be eligible if they are presently in their Pre-final year of four year BE/B Tech degree qualification from a recognised University.Candidates should also fulfill conditions given in 
Para4(b).
4. Essential Subjects for Technical Branch:
(a) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)> All candidates should have scored a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and studied at least eight subjects out of the eighteen subjects listed below in their qualifying exam:-
(L1) Physics / Engineering Physics (L2) Mathematics / Engineering Mathematics (L3) Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing (L4) Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology (L5) Control Engineering (L6) Microprocessors (L7) Digital Electronics / Basic 
Electronics (L8) Computer Networks (L9) Information Technology(L10) Network Theory Design (L11) Telecommunication Systems 
(L12) Electronic Circuit Design (L13) Radar Theory (L14) Switching Theory (L15) Instrumentation (L16) Microwave Engineering (L17) 
Antenna and Wave Propagation (L18) Electronic Devices.
(b) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M All candidates should have scored a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all 
papers put together and studied at least eight subjects out of the eighteen subjects listed below in their qualifying exam:-

(c) Physical Standards 
(i) Height and Weight: Minimum height:- Men – 157.5Cms with correlated weight. 
(ii) All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air ForceMedical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.
Note: 
Candidates pursuing in final year / semester of qualifying exam may also apply for all the courses commencing in January 2013, provided they fulfil the following conditions:-
(a) Candidates should not have any present backlog at the time of SSB Testing. 
(b) Candidates should be able to provide provisional /original degree certificate issued by the University latest by 14 December 2012 for the course commencing in January 2013.
For UES-2013 Entry : (For BE / Btech Pre-final year students)
Candidates pursuing Pre-final yearof BE/BTech are eligible to apply for UES-2013 entry, provided they fulfil the following conditions:-
(a) Candidates should not have any present backlog at the time of SSB Testing. 
(b) Candidates should be able to provide provisional/original degree certificate issued by the University latest by 15 June 2013 .
